Since 1987 Nanimarquina has been producing contemporary rugs that draw inspiration from the traditions of rugmaking. With an inquisitive, collaborative spirit founder Nani Marquina reaches out to artists around the world, forming a creative platform for cross cultural-exchange between makers in India and Pakistan, and design studios in Madrid, London, Singapore and Paris.

Lattice is Nanimarquina's second collection with French designers Ronan and Erwin Bouroullec and follows the success of the Losanges series developed in collaboration with artisans in northern Pakistan, and extensive research into the traditional hindustahn practices of Persian rug-making and kilim techniques which tested the skills of the local craftsmen.

Like Losanges, the Lattice collection is based on the centuries-old kilim weave and made from hand-spun Afghan wool. The basic, repetitive patterns and succession of earthy colours are both rhythmic and balanced, and like all of the Bouroullecs’ work, the makers’ hand is evident in the design to reveal process and structure in a simple and beautiful way.
