The iconic UP5 armchair is one of the most recognisable designs of the 20th century. Did you know B&B Italia has a pint-size version called the UP Junior?

Designed by Gaetano Pesce, the UP Series first launched in 1969 was made from air sensitive expandable foam in collaboration with the Bayer group. When removed from its flat-pack wrapping it took 15 minutes to expand into its full shape leaving audiences at the Milan Furniture Fair in understandable raptures.

Nearly 40 years later and in a permanently 'up' state, the range now has seven versions, including the Up7 'foot' and the famous UP 5 armchair, which the new UP Junior AKA UPJ is a tiny blueprint designed for kids aged three years and older.
