To celebrate the Tom Vac chair's 15th birthday, Vitra asked more than 20 design studios to reinterpret Ron Arad's iconic design for Clerkenwell Design Week. The brief from Vitra was simple: ‘Explore both novelty and memory in design, art and architecture’. Designers were encouraged to approach the project as pure concept with no restrictions on medium or discipline in line with Ron Arad’s own design process.

"It's very interesting to see other people taking the same idea and expressing their responses," said Arad. "Inspiration comes from strange places sometimes, so it's good to know that Tom Vac is being used as a starting point as well as being an end product." Read more on dezeen.
