Located in the Dutch countryside just a few kilometres north of Eindhoven is the farm converted by designer Maarten Baas into new headquarters, complete with pigs, chickens, cats, dogs, fruit trees and a makeshift sauna. Filmed during Dutch Design Week, here designer Maarten Baas takes us inside his new farm digs with Dezeen magazine. Exploring the old farm buildings and barns Baas' has transformed into design studios and workshops, this is where his furniture, lighting and objects are created with a team of skilled craftsmen. Pieces including the now famous Smoke Chair that Baas designed for his graduate show at the Design Academy Eindhoven, now produced by Dutch manufacturer Moooi, and the design-meets-installation-art Grandmother Clock, as well as his one-off design pieces for collectors.
