Of legends and fairytales, the gnome was probably best known locally for hiding in Australian gardens until Philippe Starck created Attila, Napoleon and Saint-Esprit for Kartell and launched them onto the design stage. This was 2007 and suddenly Starck's gnomes were everywhere, their innocent little faces confirming the French designer's love of the playful and whimsical. WWD, Elle, Intermi, Vogue USA and Marie Claire all filled their pages with the cute little guys. The gnome was back.
Since then the gnome has been released in special editions, in gold and black. Now, for the first time Kartell Italy and Kartell Australia have joined forces to produce a very special limited edition of Attila in all white exclusive to Kartell in Australia. To launch the local campaign Kartell Australia let the gnome loose. Visit the Kartell Australia Instagram and Facebook page for all the updates and to see which city Attila will visit next.
