Inside Dutch designer Bertjan Pot's studio are piles of materials, prototypes, samples and experiments, as well as a sewing machine used for making a growing collection of masks. Well know for designs including the Random light and Non-Random light for Moooi, product designer Bertjan Pot became internationally known for his unique working methods. The starting point is never via idealistic imagination but through experimentation, often with new materials and technologies.

A project that started life as an experiment, the growing series of handmade Masks are the result of Pot looking for a way to make carpet by stitching rope together. Now when Pot's creativity isn't sufficiently challenged he heads to his sewing machine to make another mask.
