Just launched in Milan, Corniches is a new flexible shelving system by French brothers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec that has nature in its course. Known for their interest in the great outdoors – think Algue for Vitra and Papyrus for Kartell – Corniches translates to rock ledge and these new pieces for Vitra are designed in response to the many creative solutions provided in nature.  "The same way that we hang our belongings on a rock jutting from a cliff before diving into the sea, we need small, informal storage in everyday life too”, explains Ronan Bouroullec.

Breaking the tradition of horizontal wall sections, perfectly precise and straight as an arrow, Corniches are round-edged and cute encouraging invention in their composition. The best thing is that they can grow in tune with your collection of objects, so they are totally flexible and lots of fun to play with.
